Golaghat Engineering College is the sixth approved engineering college of Assam located at Bogorijeng Golaghat. It is spread over an area of 110 Bighas (44 acres) with a clearly demarked boundary wall. The college currently provides undergraduate 4 year degree course in three branches namely Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The first batch of students got admitted to this college in August, 2018. It is equipped with state of the art infrastructure.

Its geographic location is 26°33′ longitude and 93°58′ latitude. It is located at a distance of 5 kms from Golaghat Town and 22 kms from NH37 at Dergaon. The nearest railway station is Golaghat Railway Station, Golaghat which is 6.3 Kms away from the college. The nearest Railway Junction is at Furkating, which is approximately 13 Kms away from the college. The Rowriah Airport, situated at a distance of 35 Kms from the college, is the nearest civil airport. Regular bus and train services are available from Golaghat to Guwahati.

It has one Academic block, one Administrative block, 2 numbers of Workshop buildings, 1 guest house, 1 Electrical Substation, one 4th grade residential building, one Boys’ and one Girls’ hostel and a Principal’s Residence within the campus at present.

The academic building is a three storied building divided into three blocks having a total carpet area of 165000 square feet (15329 square meters). This block has 16 numbers of classrooms, 40 numbers of laboratory rooms and 64 numbers of faculty rooms. In addition it houses separate Boys’ and Girls’ Common room, seminar halls, library, drawing halls, Digital classrooms, etc. Ramps and Lifts are provided for specially abled persons. Adequate number of washrooms and drinking water facilities are also provided within the campus for boys, girls and specially abled persons.

The two workshop buildings have the necessary infrastructure, machines and equipment in functional condition for training in different trades like Carpentry, Machine shop, Fitting, pattern making and Welding. In addition Robotics laboratories and CNC lathe with milling attachment are two of the unique features of the college. Within a span of six months of its inception, the college has established 26 numbers of functional laboratories in the College.
It has three Chemistry laboratories, one laboratory each of Physics and one Basic Electrical Engineering. There are seven laboratories in Civil Engineering, seven laboratories in Mechanical Engineering and seven laboratories in Chemical Engineering. In addition there is a computer laboratory and a language laboratory.
