As the General Secretary, I’m proud to lead the Golaghat Engineering College Students’ Union (GECSU) at Golaghat Engineering College (established 2018). Our college, nestled in Bogorijeng, Assam, offers B.Tech programs in Mechanical, Civil, and Chemical Engineering and is known for its modern infrastructure and vibrant campus life .

GECSU is dedicated to the holistic growth of every student—academically, culturally, and socially. We organize technical workshops, cultural events, and community . These initiatives reflect our values of unity, service, and sustainability .

I sincerely thank our faculty, administration, and student body for their continued support. Let’s carry forward our spirit of integrity and excellence. Together, we will face challenges, celebrate achievements, and build a brighter future for GEC.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

SUO Bulbul Gogoi, a 6th semester student, Mechanical Engineering Department (12 Assam Bn NCC, Jorhat Group) has represented NCC North Eastern Region (NER) Directorate at the Indian Military Academy Attachment Camp, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, 2024-25.

Priyam Jyoti Das and Shibasish Boruah from Chemical Engineering Department, GEC reached the Grand Finale of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition, standing out among 60,000 participants. They developed an eco cell using agricultural waste, offering a low-cost, efficient energy solution that addresses waste management and promotes sustainability. Their project, backed by rigorous research, holds potential for revolutionizing rural energy access.
Their achievement highlights their dedication to sustainability and inspires others to explore innovative eco-friendly solutions.

11 SD and 2 SW Cadets of Golaghat Engineering College NCC Unit takes pride in representing Jorhat Group, NER, NCC at the EK BHARAT SHRESTHA BHARAT CAMP being held at Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh from 06th May to 16th May, 2023.

Sanjid Kawsar, 8th Semester, Mechanical Engineering Department of Golaghat Engineering College representing 12 Assam (I) Coy NCC, Golaghat, Jorhat Group] is selected to represent the NCC North Eastern Region (NER) Directorate at the Republic Day Camp, 2023, New Delhi and Youth Exchange Program (ΥΕΡ, 2023).

Girls’ Kabaddi and Tug of War teams from Golaghat Engineering College. Their dedication, perseverance, and teamwork have brought laurels to the institution in various prestigious events:
2019: The Girls’ Kabaddi team secured the Runner’s Up position in the 2nd Annual Sports and Cultural Meet (A.S.T.U).
2019: The Girls’ Tug of War team achieved the Runner’s Up position in the Interdistrict Tug of War Championship.
2020: Once again, the Girls’ Tug of War team showcased their strength and spirit by becoming Runners Up in the 3rd Annual Sports and Cultural Meet (A.S.T.U).

Cdt Dipjyoti Sarmah from Golaghat Engineering College NCC sub-unit has won the NCC North Eastern Region Quiz Competition on two occasions while representing 12 Assam (I) Coy NCC, Golaghat.
